Durga

Cornea Recipient

At just 14 years old, Durga is a gifted student and talented cricket player. A split second accident almost derailed his bright, hopeful future. An injury while playing left him in the hospital for two weeks fighting a raging infection in his right eye. Durga was lost in a world of diminishing eye sight.

A corneal transplant at the LV Prasad Eye Institute near his home in Vizag, India, put him back on track for a normal, healthy childhood. SightLife’s partnership with LVPEI focuses on increasing corneal donation, training more transplant surgeons, and advancing leadership skills - ultimately allowing more recipients like Durga to see the world through new eyes.
